AUGUSTA, Ga -The Augusta Jaguars softball team split games in a Peach Belt Conference doubleheader versus USC Beaufort on Sunday, March 24. Augusta now moves to 13-22 on the season and 3-11 in the PBC. USC Beaufort moves 14-16 overall and 2-12 in the PBC. AU will wrap up the PBC home series against USC Beaufort on Monday at noon.

Game One
The Sandsharks got out to an early 2-0 lead after solo home runs in the first and fourth innings.
Candance Winder scored the first run of the game for the Jaguars after a solo homer in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Lauren Slade singled to score
Shelbie Summerlin and tie the game 2-2 going into the sixth inning.
USC Beaufort would score one run in the top of the sixth, but the Jaguars answered in the second half of the inning with solo home runs by
Bailee Roberts and
Lauren Barrett.
USC Beaufort tied the game at 4-4, but
Bailee Roberts hit a walkoff RBI single to earn Augusta the 5-4 win.
Madalyn Spinks started on the mound for AU, pitching 6.1 innings and giving up seven hits.
Alissa Bolinger pitched in relief and earned the win, giving up no runs or hits.
Game Two
USC Beaufort started the game with an early lead, scoring five runs in the first inning.
After getting down 9-2 through four innings, the Jaguars battled back late with a three-run home run by Candance Winder and homers by
Bailee Roberts and
Paige Patterson. Despite the hot bats late, the Jaguars lost 9-8.
Bailee Roberts led the Jaguars going 4-4 at the plate and bringing in three runs.
Ansley Gibson started on the mound for AU, pitching 0.1 innings and giving up three earned runs off five hits.
Alissa Bolinger pitched 2.2 innings in relief, giving up six hits and striking out one.
Hannah Turner also pitched in relief, giving up 1 hit and striking out one batter in four innings.
