Jaguars Drop Game Three to Columbus State

AUGUSTA, GA - The Augusta Jaguars baseball team lost 4-3 to Columbus State in the final game of the series on Saturday. Augusta now moves to 21-14 overall and 10-5 in the conference.

The Jaguars now stand in a three way tie for second place in the Peach Belt Conference with Lander and North Georgia, who all have a 10-5 record in the conference. Augusta will travel to play North Georgia in a three-game series with game one beginning on Friday, April 5 at 6 p.m.

In Saturday's game against Columbus State, the Cougars took a 2-0 lead with an RBI single and double in the top of the third inning.

Harrison Aulds hit a two RBI triple to the outfield wall, tying the game 2-2 through three innings.

A homer would give Columbus State the lead, but Augusta's Zach Kwiatkowski hit and RBI single to tie the game back up 3-3 in the sixth inning.

Luke Hasty hit a RBI single, scoring the final run of the game in the eighth inning.

Dylan Wanat and Zach Kwiatkowski both led Augusta with two hits each.

Will Cantrell started on the mound and pitched 7.2 innings, striking out seven batters and giving up four runs off 10 hits.
