AUGUSTA, GA.– The Augusta University baseball team defeated Emory & Henry in their midweek contest, 8-2. The Jaguars improve to 11-9 on the season.
Emory & Henry got things going with a solo home run to take a 1-0 lead in the first.
Augusta fought back in the fourth as Kyle Laroche took the lead on a two-run homer. His second home run in the last two games.
The Jaguars tacked on two more runs, as J. Ben Haynes scored on an error and Dylan Wanat added a sacrifice fly.
Emory & Henry cut the lead in half with a run in the fifth, 4-2.
Augusta extended their lead to 6-2 in the bottom half on a Haynes double. Laroche and Haynes knocked across another run each in the sixth inning.
This game was cut short due to rain as Augusta came out on top in seven innings.
Samuel Davis toed the rubber for Augusta, going four innings allowing only one run and striking out two.
