ST AUGUSTINE, FL - The Augusta University baseball team dropped its third game of its series with Flagler College and the last game of the regular season. The Jaguars are 23-25 overall, 12-15 PBC. After the weekend, Augusta has secured the No. 7 seed in the upcoming Peach Belt Conference Tournament.
AU was unable to cool the home team's hot bats. The Saints registered 14 hits to Augusta's six.
Flagler took an early 5-0 lead after the first inning. A sac fly from
Brady Loughren in the fourth inning put the score at 5-1. After Flagler carded another run in the bottom of the fourth inning, a ground out from
Harrison Aulds in the next inning pushed the score to 6-2.
Flagler would go on to score seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Six different Jags registered a single hit in the game. Aulds and Loughren carded the only two RBIs.
Mason Bernard (5-3) started on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings.
Gavin Zoeller pitched the next 1.3 innings. Six AU pitchers saw time on the bump during the contest.
