Augusta Women's Track & Field Finishes Fifth at PBC Championships

Daytona Beach, Fla. – The Augusta University women's track and field team finished fifth at the 2024 Peach Belt Conference Championship hosted by Embry-Riddle University at the ERAU Track Complex.

"Proud of our women's 5th place showing at conference this week," said head Coach Jacob Burgamy. "We have a very young team full of potential and this was valuable first championship experience for many of them. Our women's distance group took a big step in terms of learning how to race championship style races. Madison Kennedy was competing for the win off the final turn in both the 5k and the 10k and held on for a couple of 2nd and 3rd place finishes. In the steeple, Emily McBride took the win and is getting very close to a nationals mark. The group as a whole scored 39 points across the distance events, which is 29 points up from last year. We're young, but we are building something that I'm very proud of right now."
