DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Augusta University women's track & field delivered a historic performance at the 2026 Peach Belt Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships May 1-2, finishing second overall and bringing home the program's first-ever team trophy in conference history. The meet included weather delays that impacted the schedule across both days.
Augusta totaled points across all event areas and was led by a conference title, multiple runner-up finishes, and a strong group of All-Conference performances.
Freshman Gabrielle Jourdain was named Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Year following a standout weekend. Jourdain won the 5,000 meters in 17:38.17 and added a runner-up finish in the 10,000 meters (37:13.64).
Senior Madison Thomas captured the conference title in the 10,000 meters with a time of 37:13.55 and added a fourth-place finish in the 5,000 meters (17:51.78).
Augusta also earned a podium finish in the 4x400 relay, as the team of Cameron Wade, Kennedy McDonald, Ava Adams, and Thanna Davis placed third in 3:53.69.
In the field events, Nadiyah Byard secured a third-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.60 meters (5-3). Jala Williams added a third-place finish in the discus with a throw of 34.86 meters (114-4).
The Jaguars added depth across multiple events.
On the track, Josalyn Branch (5th, 12.28) and Madison Mitchell (6th, 12.30) scored in the 100 meters. Ava Adams placed sixth in the 200 meters (25.98). In the 400 meters, Thanna Davis finished fourth (56.93), while Kennedy McDonald added a seventh-place finish (57.91).
In the middle-distance events, Caleigh Munro set a new school record in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:41.57, finishing fifth overall. Josabeth Graciano followed in eighth (4:47.69). The 800-meter group was led by Munro (9th, 2:21.34) and Graciano (11th, 2:23.55), followed by Grace Gyetko (14th, 2:26.11) and Cheyenne Ryan (15th, 2:27.16).
Janiya England added a sixth-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles (15.24).
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Danielle Thayer placed sixth (11:49.11), while Swaye Mohler finished seventh (12:09.74) and Ansley Graddy placed ninth (12:20.02).
Augusta's 4x100 relay team of Taneiha Bowman, Madison Mitchell, Janiya England, and Josalyn Branch finished fourth in 48.21.
In the horizontal jumps, Bowman placed fourth in the triple jump (11.34m / 37-2.5) and sixth in the long jump (5.37m / 17-7.5). Cameron Wade added a sixth-place finish in the triple jump (11.24m / 36-10.5), while Nene Akaose placed eighth in the long jump (5.24m / 17-2.25).
In the throws, Jala Williams placed fifth in the shot put (11.05m / 36-3), while Keeva Tracey added a seventh-place finish (10.65m / 34-11.25). Williams also earned her podium finish in the discus.
Rebekah Klossner placed seventh in the pole vault (3.00m / 9-10), and Paige Justice and Jamiya Reed both cleared 1.40 meters in the high jump.
