GRANITEVILLE, S.C. – The No. 25 Augusta University women's volleyball team extended their unbeaten streak with a five-set victory over North Greenville University on Friday afternoon at the Convocation Center, as part of the Pacer Invitational*
With the win, Augusta improves to 4-0 on the season.
Sophia Kruczko led Augusta with 15 kills, while
Madelyn Eden added 11 kills and hit .421 for the match.
Jada Suguturaga* chipped in 9 kills with a .304 hitting percentage, and
Marin Freeland recorded 11 kills.
Janvier Buggs orchestrated the offense with 33 assists and 7 digs, while
Giulia Rodrigues led the defense with a match-high 25 digs.
Augusta took the first set 26-24 after a back-and-forth battle with North Greenville, with Kruczko delivering key kills down the stretch. However, North Greenville bounced back to take the second set 25-18.
In the third set, Augusta regained control, posting a .179 hitting percentage and winning 25-20. Eden and Suguturaga led the attack, helping the Jaguars pull ahead in the match. North Greenville responded once again, taking the fourth set 25-21 to force a decisive fifth set.
In the final set, Augusta hit .364 as a team, with Kruczko and Freeland delivering crucial points. The Jaguars sealed the win 15-11, completing their fourth straight victory of the season.
Overall, Augusta hit .134 for the match with 59 kills, 34 errors, and 187 total attacks, while North Greenville hit .099 with 49 kills, 31 errors, and 181 attacks. Augusta also tallied 24 total blocks, outpacing North Greenville's 10.
