AUGUSTA, GA - The No. 22 Augusta University Jaguars maintained their perfect start to the season with a straight-set victory over Shorter University on Tuesday night at George A. Christenberry Fieldhouse. The Jaguars are now 7-0.

Mikayla Kline led the way offensively with 12 kills, hitting .276 for the match. Marin Freeland followed closely behind with 9 kills, while Jada Suguturaga added 5 kills and contributed 3 blocks. Janvier Buggs directed the attack with 17 assists and collected 8 digs, while Giulia Rodrigues anchored the defense with a team-high 9 digs.

The Jaguars claimed the opening set 25-19, hitting .194. In the second set, Shorter put up a strong fight, but Augusta held on to win 25-23. The Jaguars closed out the match in the third set with a 25-21 win, improving their team hitting percentage to .333 in the final frame.

For the match, Augusta posted a .217 hitting percentage with 41 kills and 16 errors on 115 total swings, while Shorter hit .067 with 31 kills and 23 errors on 120 attacks. Augusta outblocked Shorter 14-6 over the three sets.
