Greenville, NC- After two rounds of the 50th annual Paladin Invitational hosted by Furman University, Augusta University sophomore
Keira Gonzalez-McCarthy continues to be in a tie for the top spot. Gonzalez-McCarthy backed up her opening round 68 with a 70 on Saturday and is at -6 for the tournament. That's good enough to be co-leader with Casilda Allendesalazar from North Florida. Gonzalez-McCarthy rolled home three consecutive birdies on the front nine and had just a single bogey on the scorecard.
INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
As a team, the Jaguars moved up two spots and are now in eighth place after a team score of -2 on the day. As a team, they improved by 16 shots from round one to round two. They are also just two shots out of the top five. Xavier leads the tournament at -1 with the University of North Carolina Wilmington at +1 and Western Kentucky at +6.
TEAM RESULTS
Freshman
Marine Legentil is in 28th place after an even par 72 on Saturday. Legentil sits at +6 for the tournament.
Zoe Pinillos, a sophomore, is two shots behind her in 31st place. Pinillos was one over for the day.
Sara Adams rebounded from the opening round, having improved by 10 shots and fired a 71 Saturday. Her scorecard featured five birdies. as her solid play counted towards the team score as the Jaguars vie for a solid finish in the event.
Sunday's final round will be a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
