Augusta Athletics is Top 50 in Final Fall LEARFIELD Directors' Cup

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Augusta University wrapped up the fall season ranked No. 43 in the LEARFIELD Directors' Cup Division II Standings, as announced by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA).

Less than half of Division II institutions earned points in the LEARFIELD Directors' Cup this fall. The LEARFIELD Directors' Cup point system evaluates the final finish of each sport in NCAA postseason play. Augusta earned points in men's cross country and volleyball during the fall.

The 2024 fall season was highlighted by a 18th-place finish at the NCAA National Championships for the men's cross country team, earning 56 points in the LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings. Augusta's men's cross country team also captured its sixth consecutive Peach Belt Conference (PBC) title and finished second in the NCAA Southeast Regional. The Jaguars continued their strong tradition, competing in the NCAA National Championships for the seventh time in program history. Seven runners earned All-Region honors, including the program's first All-American: Jordan Robertson.

The Augusta volleyball team added 50 points to the standings after securing their seventh straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Jaguars reached the NCAA Southeast Region semifinals as the No. 4 seed, marking another year of competitive success under head coach Sharon Quarles. Standout players included AVCA All-American Sophia Kruczko and Jada Suguturaga.

Augusta University concluded the 2023-24 LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings ranked 88th, moving up four spots from the previous year's finish at No. 92.

The next scoring update will occur at the end of March and will include points earned for men's and women's basketball.
