Maximillian Amadasun from Augusta University men's basketball and
Quinasia Abercrombie from Augusta University women's basketball have been named the Georgia's Own Student-Athletes of the Month for December. The Georgia's Own Student-Athlete of the Month Award honors one male and one female Augusta University student-athlete from an in-season sport for their hard work and effort.
Max Amadasun - men's basketball
Amadasun, a senior from Dublin, Ireland he helped lead the Jaguars to a perfect 5-0 record in December. During the month, Amadasun averaged 22.4 points and 12.8 rebounds per game, showcasing his scoring and rebounding abilities. His standout performance came during the week of December 16 when he posted 30 points and 14 rebounds against Emmanuel. He went on to be named Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week. Amadasun posted impressive shooting numbers, hitting 66.2% of his field goals, including a perfect 100% from three-point range. He also contributed 1.8 assists, 0.8 steals, and a solid defensive presence, helping the team maintain its undefeated streak in December.
Quinasia Abercrombie - women's basketball
Abercrombie, a freshman from Greenville, S.C., played a key role in helping the Jaguars extend their win streak. She averaged 13.3 points per game while shooting 57.1% from the field, including a 75% shooting percentage from three-point range. Abercrombie's strong all-around performance also included 9.3 rebounds per game, contributing to both offense and defense. Her efforts were highlighted by being named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week on December 9 after posting back-to-back double-doubles, averaging 14.5 points and 10.5 rebounds as Augusta extended its win streak to six. She scored 10 points with 11 rebounds in a win over Converse, then followed up with a standout 19-point, 10-rebound performance against USC Beaufort in the league opener. Abercrombie shot 55% from the field and 67% from beyond the arc, while also contributing four assists, two steals, and seven offensive rebounds in each game.
