AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta volleyball saw its eight-match win streak come to an end Tuesday night, dropping a 3–0 non-conference match to Emmanuel inside Christenberry Fieldhouse. The Jaguars fell by scores of 25–20, 26–24, and 25–23.
Augusta (13–3, 4–0 PBC) stayed close throughout but couldn't convert late-set opportunities as Emmanuel hit .224 and used consistent serving to edge out each frame.
Layne Witherspoon led the Jaguars with eight kills on .286 hitting, while Patrycja Kabala and Sofiia Snitsarevych added six apiece. Sydney Harrington recorded 42 assists and two service aces, and Giulia Rodrigues led the backcourt with 12 digs. The Jaguars hit .194 as a team with 45 kills and six blocks.
Despite the loss, Augusta remains unbeaten in Peach Belt play and in sole possession of first place.
The Jaguars return to Christenberry Fieldhouse on Saturday, Oct. 11, for a 1 p.m. conference matchup against rival USC Aiken before taking on Shaw at 5pm.
