WILSON, N.C. – Augusta men's basketball fell 99-84 to Mount Olive on Friday evening in the opener of the 45 Second Classic at Wilson Gymnasium. The Jaguars move to 0-3 on the season, while Mount Olive starts 1-0.

Mount Olive opened the game on a strong run to build a 27-14 advantage, but Augusta responded and trimmed the deficit to 49-45 at halftime. The Trojans used timely shooting and second-chance opportunities early in the second half to stretch the lead to double digits and held off the Jaguars the rest of the way.
Luis Nonfon paced Augusta with 20 points on 8-for-11 shooting from the field, adding six rebounds. Charlie McBeath turned in an all-around performance with 17 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Tobias Prall added 15 points and four rebounds, while Elias Palsson also scored 15 points with two made three-pointers.
Augusta finished with a 42-40 edge in points in the paint and scored 15 points off 13 Mount Olive turnovers, but the Trojans held a 39-30 rebounding advantage and converted 25 fast-break points to stay in front.
