Augusta Rolls Past North Greenville 76-58 in Home Opener

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta women's basketball opened the 2025-26 season with a 76-58 win over North Greenville on Friday night at Christenberry Fieldhouse. The Jaguars move to 1-0, while the Crusaders drop to 0-2.

The first quarter featured six ties and five lead changes before Augusta closed the period with a 22-18 advantage. The Jaguars continued to add separation in the second quarter, shooting 52.9 percent (9-for-17) from the field to take a 45-32 lead into halftime. Augusta converted five North Greenville turnovers into points in the frame and went 5-for-6 at the free throw line.

Augusta created its largest gap in the third quarter, holding North Greenville to six points on 3-for-11 shooting while going 7-for-15 on the offensive end. The Jaguars also added four offensive rebounds in the period to extend possessions and entered the fourth with a 64-38 lead.

Quinasia Abercrombie led Augusta with 16 points on 5-of-11 shooting and added six rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Elyse Autrey followed with 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and a team-high five turnovers forced (recorded as five steals). Nadiyah Byard scored 10 points on 4-of-4 shooting and pulled down one rebound.

Two Jaguars reached double figures off the bench: Olivia Martin scored 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting with four rebounds, and Chloe Ross went a perfect 4-for-4 from the field to finish with eight points and two rebounds.

Augusta finished with a 40-28 rebounding advantage, including a 14-10 edge in offensive boards that led to 17 second-chance points. The Jaguars also turned 20 North Greenville turnovers into 29 points and outscored the Crusaders 40-16 in the paint.

North Greenville was led by Maliyiah Mason with 13 points and seven rebounds. Amiyah Ware added 12 points off the bench, and Kayla Gaston scored eight.

Ten different Jaguars scored in the season-opening win.
