AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta men's basketball used a hot-shooting night to secure a 110-99 win over Emmanuel (Ga.) in its home opener Wednesday evening at Christenberry Fieldhouse. The Jaguars move to 2-3 on the season, while Emmanuel drops to 0-3.

Augusta shot 67.6 percent from the field in the first half and 54.5 percent from three to build a 62-41 lead at the break. The Jaguars finished the night at 64.3 percent (36-for-56) from the floor, 50.0 percent (12-for-24) from beyond the arc, and 86.7 percent (26-for-30) at the free throw line.
Elias Palsson led Augusta with 29 points, going 8-for-18 from the field and 11-for-13 at the line while adding five rebounds and five assists. Tobias Prall followed with 16 points, hitting three three-pointers and finishing a perfect 3-for-3 at the stripe.
Luis Nonfon posted 15 points on 6-for-7 shooting and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds. Charlie McBeath added 15 points on a flawless 4-for-4 from the field, 3-for-3 from three, and 4-for-4 at the line. Rodney Scott contributed five points, five assists, and three steals.
Augusta's bench supplied key support, combining for 30 points. Matias Zanotto tallied 14 points and five rebounds on 4-for-5 shooting, Carlton Young chipped in eight points and a pair of dunks in nine minutes, and Camryn Pacheco added six points, four assists, and one rebound. Oliver Lucas added two points in limited action.
The Jaguars finished with a 44-32 advantage in points in the paint and recorded 13 points off 10 Emmanuel turnovers. Both teams collected 27 rebounds.
Emmanuel was led by Devin Story, who scored 39 points, including six three-pointers and a 19-for-19 performance at the free throw line. Kolby Watson added 17 points, while Brady Peery and Massimo Moretti each scored six.
