AUGUSTA, Ga - Conference matchup on Saturday afternoon, falling 3–1 to Lander inside Christenberry Fieldhouse. With the result, the Jaguars move to 22–7 overall and 10–3 in league play, while the Bearcats improve to 17–8 and 9–4.
The Bearcats claimed the match with set scores of 25–14, 25–20, 25–17, and 25–18. Augusta finished with a .113 hitting percentage and 14 total blocks, while Lander hit .194 and used strong net play to control the final two sets.
Lauren Nelson paced the Jaguars' offense with 14 kills and 12 digs, while Layne Witherspoon contributed eight kills and two service aces. Setter Sydney Harrington ran the offense with 34 assists and added 10 digs, and libero Giulia Rodrigues provided 14 digs and an ace in the backcourt.
Angela Mateos and Sofiia Snitsarevych each turned in solid efforts at the net—Mateos recorded five kills and four blocks, while Snitsarevych posted seven kills and six total blocks. Mia Saavedra added three kills and 14 digs, and Patrycja Kabala supplied two late kills off the bench.
For Lander, Katie Miller led all players with 23 kills and 14 digs, while setter Enisilina Savelio finished with 38 assists and 13 digs.
Despite the loss, Augusta remains in the upper tier of the PBC standings and will look to bounce back on Tuesday with a cross-town rivalry match.
