Witherspoon Garners AVCA All-America Honors Following Standout 2025 Season

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta junior middle hitter Layne Witherspoon has been named AVCA All-America Honorable Mention, adding to her AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention recognition after a strong 2025 season in which the Jaguars finished 25–9 and claimed the Peach Belt Conference regular-season title.

Witherspoon totaled 346 kills on .295 hitting across 126 sets while adding 168 digs, 84 total blocks, and 38 service aces. She averaged 2.75 kills per set and 3.44 points per set and recorded 17 double-digit kill matches. Her top offensive performances included 17 kills against Montevallo on Sept. 19 and 15 kills on .619 hitting against Mississippi College on Sept. 20. She added a season-best 14 digs at Flagler on Oct. 4 and tallied seven blocks against Georgia College on Oct. 17.

Witherspoon's consistency in the middle contributed to Augusta's success on both sides of the net and played a key role in the team's conference championship and NCAA postseason appearance.
