Augusta, Ga - Despite being tied at two going to the seventh inning, USC Beaufort scored 10 late runs to beat the Jaguars 12-2 Friday afternoon at Jaguar Field. Augusta falls to 2-13 on the year while USC Beaufort is now 3-10.
The Jaguars got on the board early by scoring in the bottom of the first.
Parker Ingram reached on an error and would move around to third on a pair of groundouts. Then,
Mike Morrison delivered the RBI single giving AU the first run of the game.Â
The Sands Sharks would tie the game in the second but Augusta would retake the lead in the fourth.Morrison would reach on an error and then
Roland Chance would come through with a run-scoring triple to make it 2-1 Augusta.Â
But the late innings would belong to USC Beaufort as they win the series opener.Â
Caleb Bohn pitched six plus innings for Augusta, and struck out eight.Â
Augusta and USC Beaufort will play game two of the series Saturday evening at 6 p.m. at Jaguar Field
