Milledgeville, Ga- Augusta plated two runs in the first inning against Georgia College, but the Bobcats would take control quickly and defeated the Jaguars 15-3 Friday night. Augusta is now 2-2 in Peach Belt Conference play and 4-14 overall. Georgia College is 1-0 in the conference and 7-10 overall.
The Jaguars started hot with
Parker Ingram hitting a solo home run in the first inning. That was followed by a
Zach Kwiatkowski walking and stealing second. He would score when
Mike Morrison singled to center to make it 2-0 Jaguars.Â
The Bobcats would quickly respond with four runs in the bottom of the first and another in the second.
Augusta would add their final run of the game in the top of the third.
Nolan Turner singled and stole second and scored on a Morrison a sacrifice fly to make it 5-3. .Â
Georgia College would continue to dominate from the plate and walked away with the victory.Â
Turner and Ingram each had two hits with Morrison driving in two of the three runs.
J. Ben Haynes and
Jackson Thomas accounted for the other two hits for the Jaguars.Â
Game two of the series will be Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.Â
