Augusta, Ga- Augusta University baseball dropped the series opener to Kentucky Wesleyan 8-1 Friday night at Jaguar Field. AU falls to 1-5 on the year while the Panthers win their season opener and are 1-0.
The Jaguars scratched just four hits on the game with
Parker Ingram collecting two of them, including a triple.
Nolan Turner and
Mike Morrison also collected base hits in the game.
After Kentucky Wesleyan scored the first run of the game, Augusta tied the score in the bottom of the second.
Roland Chance walked, moved to second on a wild pitch, and eventually scored on a throwing error. That would be the lone run of the game for the Jaguars.
On the mound,
Landon Skeen pitched well in relief. Skeen went 3.1 innings and gave up just two hits while registering four strikeouts.
The series continues Saturday afternoon, with first pitch at 2:00 p.m.
