Augusta, GA – Despite a strong first half and late-game efforts, Augusta fell to rival USC Aiken 85-76 on Saturday night at Christenberry Fieldhouse. The Jaguars drop to 14-7 overall and 8-3 in Peach Belt Conference play, while USC Aiken improves to 15-6 and 8-3 in the league standings.

The first half was a back-and-forth battle, with both teams heading into the break tied at 38-38. However, USC Aiken surged ahead in the second half, outscoring Augusta 47-38 behind a strong offensive performance from Jalen McCoy, who finished with 33 points.
For Augusta, Max Amadasun led the way with 22 points and 11 rebounds, securing another double-double while shooting 9-of-19 from the field. John St. Germain III contributed 20 points, all from aggressive drives and free throws in the second half, and added five assists. Demitri Gardner posted 18 points, going 9-of-12 from the free-throw line while adding four assists. Evan Joyner chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds, providing a solid inside presence.
Despite shooting over 85% from the free-throw line and 41.7% from three-point range, Augusta struggled to slow down USC Aiken's efficient offense in the second half. The Pacers' strong interior play and ability to capitalize on turnovers proved to be the difference.
