Augusta, Ga. -Â In the series finale against North Georgia, Augusta came up short, falling to the Nighthawks 8-2 in a rain-shortened game. Augusta is now 5-10 in conference play and 8-26 overall. North Georgia moves to 13-2 in conference and 24-9 overall and continue to be on top of the Peach Belt Conference standings.
Mike Morrison extended his hit streak to 26 straight games with a third inning single and
Roland Chance cranked his seventh home run of the year, a solo shot in the fourth.
North Georgia scored a run in the first but the Jaguars would get it right back.
Nolan Turner doubled to lead off the inning and two batters later scored when
Parker Ingram singled him home.Â
The Nighthawks would extend their lead with runs in the second, fourth and fifth innings.Â
Augusta's other run would come off the bat of Chance who crushed one out to right field.Â
Parker Ingram, one of the top hitters in the conference, had two hits on the game and
Aidan Cannaday had a single and double as AU actually out hit UNG 9-8.Â
The Jaguars return to action Tuesday when they host Emmanuel, first pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.Â
