Jags Drop Midweek Game to Anderson

Augusta, Ga. - In a game that was closer than the final score indicated, Augusta came up short in falling to Anderson 11-5 Tuesday night at Jaguar Field. The Jags are now 10-37 overall while the Trojans improve to 24-22.

After surrendering the first three runs of the game, Augusta got on the board in the third when Mike Morrison hit his fourth home run of the year to make it 3-1.

An inning later, it was AU drawing even closer. Jackson Thomas reached on an error and would eventually move to third on a pair of wild pitches. Owen Primm would then deliver a RBI single to make it 3-2.

Anderson would score the next three runs, but again, Augusta would battle back. In the sixth, J. Ben Haynes would deliver a pinch hit single that moved pinch runner Gavin Wright to third. Rushton Bowles would then drive in Wright with a single of his own to make it 6-3.

Down 7-3 in the eighth, the Jaguars would rally again. Haynes and Bowles would both single to start the frame. With one out, Zach Kwiatkowski would come up with a run scoring double. Morrison would then have a sacrifice fly to plate Bowles making it 7-5.

Anderson would hit a grand slam in the ninth for the final runs of the game.

Jackson, Haynes and Bowles all had two hits on the night while Morrison drove in a pair of runs.

Augusta finishes out the regular season with three games against Flagler starting Friday night at p.m.
