Augusta Sits 10th After Two Rounds of the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational

Augusta, Ga. - On a day where temperatures soared into the mid-80s, Augusta had a roller-coaster day and sits in 10th place after 36 holes of the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Course. Illinois holds the team lead at -11, with Oklahoma State at -10 and top-ranked Texas at -9.

On the individual front, Stefan Jacobs is tied for 15th at -1 with 18 holes to play. Oklahoma State's Preston Stout holds the outright lead at -10.

For the Jaguars, Jacobs opened with a three-under 69 and then had a two-over 74 for his final score. He registered five birdies in round one before posting two late birdies to come up with his second round mark. He is two shots out of the top 10.

Bo Blanchard II and Pieter Rossouw Jr. both sit at +3 for the tournament. Blanchard had four birdies in his opening round but a late double bogey cost him. In the second round he carded a 75 with three birdies. Rossouw started his opening round with 12 straight pars. He finished with two bogeys and no birdies. Rossouw fired a 73 in the second round. 

Dean Wilken opened with a 75 and then posted an even par 72 in the second round. He had three birdies and three bogies in round two.

Chapman Barnett was the last competing member for the team. Barnett shot 75-74 and is at five-over par. 

The Jaguars have two golfers competing as individuals. Mason Fundingsland registered four birdies and finished with a 73 in the opening round. He would struggle a bit in round two with a 77. 

Behn Heyns, who got in the field at the last minute, shot a 76 and 80 to cap off his day.

The thrid and final round will start at 8:00 a.m. on Sunday morning as they will use split tees.
