AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University Athletics has announced Amanda Fields as the new head coach of the Augusta Cheerleading team.
Fields, a native of Pennsylvania, brings a wealth of experience in both athletics and university administration. She currently serves as a key member of the Department of Athletics' administrative leadership team, where she oversees all financial aspects of the department, including budget planning, accounts payable and receivable, team travel, and required financial reporting.
A former student-athlete, Fields earned her degree in Sports Business Administration from Drexel University, where she competed as a member of the cheerleading team.
"I want to thank Ryan Erlacher for the opportunity to serve as Head Coach of the Cheer Team," Fields said. "I'm excited to take on this new role and to further expand my involvement in the Athletics Department. I look forward to leading the team and continuing our efforts to support AU Athletics."
Fields will begin her coaching duties immediately, helping prepare the team for the upcoming academic year and athletic season.
