AUGUSTA, Ga - The Augusta University women's cross country team was selected to finish second in the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) preseason coaches' poll this morning (Aug. 25).
The Jaguars earned 89 points and one first-place vote, slotting in behind Flagler College, which tallied 98 points and nine first-place votes. North Georgia followed closely in third with 84 points and one first-place vote.
Augusta finished as the runner-up at the 2024 PBC Championship, placing three runners in the top 10, before closing the season with a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Southeast Regional.
Head Coach Jacob Burgamy returns a veteran roster highlighted by two PBC All-Conference selections in Maria Biondollilo and Sophia Cook, both of whom scored inside the top 10 at last year's conference championship. With proven experience and postseason success, Augusta looks to continue building momentum as the program pursues its first-ever PBC title in women's cross country.
