Clemson, S.C. - The Augusta women's golf team started the season with a sixth place finish at The Tiger Classic in Clemson, S.C. on Monday at the Walker Golf Club. The tournament featured 36 holes with the host Clemson Tigers picking up the team victory. For the Jaguars,
Marine Legentil was the low golfer and finished in 16th place on the individual front.

Augusta was +15 after the opening round and improved by five shots over the final 18 holes to finish at +10 for round two.
Legentil, who had a solid first year for the Jaguars, fired rounds of 73-73 for her 2-over-par final score. She had a pair of birdies and three bogeys in the opening round and followed that up with a near identical round two with two more birdies and three bogeys. She was just three shots out of a top 10 finish.
Sara Adams was the second counting score for AU with rounds of 75-73 to finish at 4-over-par. Adams opening round saw her roll home two birdie putts but also had three bogeys and a double bogey. In her second round, she got off to a tough start and was 4-over for her first nine holes. But late in the day, Adams got hot and birdied four of the last five holes for her total.
Sofia Valera, a newcomer to the Jaguar roster posted rounds of 76-77 and finished at 9-over-par. Valera tallied three birdies on the day as both of her scores counted for the team.
After shooting an 80 in the opening round, newcomer
Puntita Pawichai rebounded with a 76 in round two. She had a total of three birdies on the day in her Jaguar debut.
The final player in the Jaguar team lineup was
Danielle Higbee, who made her Division One golf debut. Higbee finished the day with scores of 79-78 and was 13-over-par.
Jessica Pilgrim and
Yariliz Delgado both competed as an individual. Pilgrim shot 77-78 and finished at 11-over-par and in 42nd placed. Delgado shot 82-80 in her Augusta Univeristy debut.
The Jaguar women will next be in action Sept. 8-9 at The Southern in Savannah, Georgia.
