,Augusta, Ga. - The schedule is now set for the Augusta University women's golf team for the upcoming 2025-26 season. There are 11 tournaments with five of them in the fall portion of the season. Jaguar coach Ember Holloway is ready for the team to tee it up and this season also marks the first year AU will
compete in the West Coast Conference, which will pose a challenge itself.
"I really like our fall schedule. It's kind of fast and furious, but I feel like we're going to catch everyone on our team coming off a really good summer. A lot of our players have been in strong form over the summer so I'm excited about that," said Holloway.
The Jaguars start things off with a one day, 36-hole event at The Tiger Classic in Clemson, S.C. on Aug. 25. They will then be part of the field at The Southern hosted by Georgia Southern in Savannah Ga. Sept. 8-9.
A trip to Greenville S.C. with the Lady Paladin Invitational is scheduled for Sept. 19-11. It was in that tournament a year ago where the Jags finished seventh as a team and
Keira Gonzalez-McCarthy was medalist for the tournament. AU has had a rich history in that event and hopes to keep the tradition of playing well alive.
"It's a course we've played very well at, and we've had players that have played very well at and we just want to keep up that good mojo," said Holloway.
To cap off the fall schedule, Augusta will travel to Chicago, Il. area for back-to-back tournaments. First will be the Windy City Classic hosted by Northwestern on Sept. 28-30. The following week AU will be part of the Illini Invitational hosted by the University of Illinois at historic Medinah Country Club. That event is Oct. 6-7.
The spring portion of the schedule will feature the Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate in Jacksonville, Fl. and hosted by the University of North Florida.
Two local events will follow that in March. The More Than Golf Invitational at Old Barnwell Golf Club in Aiken, S.C. will be March 1-3. This is the second year of the event with the Annika Foundation playing host.
A week and a half later will be the 20th Valspar Augusta Invitational at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. Once again, several of the top teams in the nation will be part of the strong field on the Jags home course.
"It's kind of that home field advantage and being close to home and you get to showcase some of the courses that we have access to. They're also great courses to get that prep ready for post season play," Holloway added.
To close out the month of March, AU will be part of the Coach Mo Classic in ST. Augustine, Fl. March 30 to April 1.
Wrapping up the season, the Jaguars will take part in the West Coast Conference Championship April 25-27 at Green Valley Country Club in Fairfield, Ca. This is the first year Augusta will compete in the WCC and will face off against teams they don't normally see over the course of the year.
"We're excited about that and it's kind of leveling up that competition that we would see typically in the postseason," said Holloway. "I'm getting the team on different types of grass and use to different conditions. I think overall, it's going to be a really good season."
