MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – Augusta volleyball notched its 10th win of the year and stayed unbeaten in Peach Belt play with a 3–1 road win at Georgia College on Saturday. The Jaguars are now 10–2 overall and 2–0 in conference play after securing their fifth straight victory.
Georgia College opened strong, capitalizing on Augusta errors to claim the first set 25–14. The Jaguars regrouped in the second, trading points throughout before edging the Bobcats 26–24 to even the match.
Momentum carried into the third, where Augusta's offense found its rhythm. The Jaguars posted 18 kills on .326 hitting in the frame and took control with a 25–20 win. In the fourth, Augusta limited Georgia College to just five kills and closed out the match 25–16.
Lauren Nelson led all players with 21 kills on 54 swings, her first 20-kill match this season. Layne Witherspoon added 12 kills and seven digs, while Sofiia Snitsarevych and Patrycja Kabala chipped in eight apiece. Setter Sydney Harrington distributed 49 assists and added a service ace, while Giulia Rodrigues collected 31 digs in the back row.
As a team, Augusta finished with 55 kills and five blocks while holding the Bobcats to a .122 attack percentage.
The Jaguars return home to Christenberry Fieldhouse on Tuesday, Sept. 30, for a 7 p.m. non-conference match against Converse.
