AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta volleyball picked up its sixth straight win with a 3–1 decision over Converse on Tuesday night at Christenberry Fieldhouse. The Jaguars improved to 11–2 on the season and remain 2–0 in Peach Belt play.
The Jaguars came out sharp in the opening frame, swinging .324 as a team on the way to a 25–16 win. Converse answered in the second set, pulling away late to even the match 25–16.
Augusta regained momentum in the third, closing out key rallies down the stretch for a 25–22 win. The Jaguars sealed the match in the fourth with their most efficient set of the night, hitting .424 with 16 kills to finish off the Valkyries 25–14.
Patrycja Kabala recorded a season-best 15 kills on .324 hitting, while Lauren Nelson added 14 kills. Mia Saavedra tallied six kills with a .333 hitting percentage and 17 digs, and Layne Witherspoon chipped in six kills and three blocks. Sydney Harrington passed out 13 assists, and Giulia Rodrigues collected a team-high 17 digs in the back row.
Augusta closed the night with 53 kills and 10 total blocks while holding Converse to a .056 hitting mark.
The Jaguars (11–2, 2–0 PBC) travel to Greenwood, S.C., on Friday, Oct. 3, to face Lander.
