AUGUSTA, Ga. – Amari Jackson posted 12 points and Augusta women's basketball used a fourth-quarter push to break open a tight one in a 71–58 non-conference win over Livingstone on Friday at George A. Christenberry Fieldhouse.
It was back-and-forth throughout, with seven ties and 20 lead changes. Livingstone held a 31–30 edge late in the second quarter before the Jaguars answered to take a 37–34 lead into halftime. The teams traded punches again in the third, and Augusta carried a 49–49 tie into the final 10 minutes.
The Jaguars delivered the separation in the fourth. Quinasia Abercrombie knocked down a three early in the period to put Augusta back in front, and the Jaguars followed with stops and timely trips to the line to build the margin. Jackson provided the finishing touches inside, while Sierra Burns and Elyse Autrey helped steady things late as Augusta closed out the 13-point win.
Jackson went 6-for-9 from the floor and added four rebounds and three steals. Abercrombie finished with 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists, while Sa'Niah Dorsey scored 10 points with two three-pointers. Burns scored 11 points in 18 minutes, and Autrey added nine points and five assists.
Breasia Coit led Livingstone with 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Jasiyah Crawford added 13 points with three triples.
