Jaguars Drop PBC Match to No. 19 Columbus State

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University women's tennis team fell 6-0 to No. 19 Columbus State on Friday afternoon in Peach Belt Conference play at the Newman Tennis Center.

Columbus State secured the doubles point with wins on all three courts. Maria Gento and Andrea Gonzalez fell 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, while Priscilla Landi and Julieta Palma dropped a 6-2 decision at No. 2. Camila Taborga and Giovanna Patrocinio were defeated 6-0 at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Maria Gento fell 6-3, 6-3 at the top position, and Andrea Gonzalez dropped a 6-1, 6-3 decision. Priscilla Landi battled in a three-set match before falling 5-7, 6-3, 6-4.

Camila Taborga pushed her match to three sets but came up short 7-5, 6-4, 6-3, while Giovanna Patrocinio fell in a tightly contested match 7-5, 6-7, 12-10.

The match at No. 3 singles featuring Luciana Bejarano was left unfinished.
