Augusta, Ga. - Behind some solid pitching and timely hitting, Augusta knocked off Emmanuel 7-4 Tuesday night at Jaguar Field. With the win, the Jaguars improve to 17-24 on the season while the Lions fall to 18-24.

Ty Cobb and
Aedan Cates pitched a combined five shutout innings to start the game for Augusta. The Jaguar pitching also stranded 13 Lion runners on the night.
The Jaguars scored their first two runs in the second.
Aidan Cannaday was hit by a pitch and then, with two outs,
Kent Moon smoked one to deep center that went off the wall. Moon, was running hard from the get go, circled the bases for an inside-the-park home run, his 10th home run of the year.
AU would add two more in the third.
Mattheson Go doubled in
Jakob Cowart.
Nolan Turner then did the same with a RBI double giving Augusta a 4-0 lead.
Harris Bachelder would later single home Turner to make it 5-0.
It would stay that way until the seventh when Emmanuel would score four times making it 5-4.
In the eighth, AU would get some insurance. Cowart would pick up a two-run double that scored Moon and
Davis Newman with the final runs of the game.
Samuel Davis pitched the final 2.2 innings of scoreless ball to pick up the save.
Bachelder and Newman led the offense with two hits apiece.
Augusta will next resume Peach Belt Confernece play with a three game series at Columbus St. The first game is Friday at 6 p.m.
