DAHLONEGA, Ga. – Augusta University softball dropped a Peach Belt Conference doubleheader on the road to No. 8 North Georgia on Saturday, falling 13-0 in five innings in game one and 6-0 in game two. The Jaguars move to 23-27 overall as they close out the regular season.
Game One
North Georgia struck early in the opener, scoring twice in the first before a 10-run second inning created early separation. The Nighthawks added another run in the third to secure the run-rule victory.
Augusta recorded two hits in the contest, with Payton Terrell and Kelsea Moody each collecting a hit.
In the circle, Augusta worked through multiple pitchers, with Madalyn Spinks and Rylan Music providing relief innings to help stabilize the game following the early surge.
Game Two
The Jaguars showed improvement in game two, limiting North Georgia's offense early and keeping the game within reach through the first few innings.
After a scoreless start, the Nighthawks broke through in the third and added two more runs in the fourth to build a 3-0 lead. North Georgia extended the advantage in the sixth with a three-run inning.
Augusta finished with five hits, including a double from Payton Terrell, while Ansley Gibson, Nevaeh Ross, Ayellad Howard, and Sam Tener each added hits to pace the offense.
In the circle, Kristyn Ezzo delivered a complete-game effort, working through traffic and keeping Augusta competitive into the middle innings against one of the top offenses in the conference.
