Fairfield, Ca. - In the match play semifinals of the West Coast Confernece golf championships, Pepperdine knocked off Augusta 4-1 to advance as the Jaguars see their season come to an end.
In the opening match, Brady Siravo defeated the Jaguars
Pieter Rossouw Jr. 2&1. The match was tied through the first four holes before Siravo took the lead, one he would not give up. Rossouw got down by as many as three holes on the final nine, but rallied to get within one when they wrapped up play.
In the second match,
Dean Wilken won his match in convincing fashion. Wilken defeated Carson Kim 4&3. Wilken won the first two holes and led by as many as four after nine and cruised to post the lone Jaguar victory.Â
Stefan Jacobs fell to Willey Walsh 2&1 in match three. Jacobs never led in the match and trailed by three on a couple of occasions. He did get within one before Waslh closed out the match on the final hole.
Josh Daniels found himself in a tight match before falling to Mahanth Chirravuri 1Up. Daniels led by one early and the match was tied three other times. Daniels did win the 17th hole to force them to play the final hole of the match.
In the final match of the day,
Bo Blanchard II fell to Byungho Lee 1UP as well. The match was tied after 11 holes before Lee took the lead and would hang on for the win.Â
