Augusta Men's Basketball Earns NABC Team Academic Excellence Award; Two Jaguars Named to Honors Court

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University men's basketball team was recognized by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) for its work in the classroom, earning a 2025-26 NABC Team Academic Excellence Award.

The award recognizes programs that finished the academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Augusta also had two student-athletes named to the 2025-26 NABC Honors Court. Graduate Evan Joyner, who earned his Master's degree in Public Administration, and graduate Kyndon Wilburg, who earned his degree in Cybersecurity, each received the honor for maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher during their careers.

The NABC Honors Court recognizes academically accomplished junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball student-athletes from all levels of college basketball.

More than 2,300 student-athletes were named to the 2025-26 NABC Honors Court, while more than 400 programs earned Team Academic Excellence Awards.

"College basketball student-athletes do incredible things on the court, but their achievements in the classroom are equally worthy of celebration," said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. "Education is one of the NABC's core values, and the hundreds of programs and thousands of athletes represented on these awards reinforce the commitment to academic success that exists across all levels of our sport."
