AUGUSTA, Ga. — The reigning Peach Belt Conference Tournament champion Augusta women's basketball team is the coaches' pick to win the 2026–27 PBC title. The Jaguars received seven first-place votes and 95 points in the league's preseason poll. Junior Quinasia Abercrombie was also named to the Preseason All-Conference Team.
Augusta enters the season after winning its first PBC Tournament title in 33 years. The Jaguars defeated top-seeded Columbus State in the semifinals and GCSU in the championship game, then closed the year at the NCAA Southeast Regional. They finished 21–10 overall and 13–7 in conference play.
Abercrombie led Augusta in scoring and rebounding last season, averaging 18.1 points and 7.3 rebounds across 20 starts. She was named PBC Tournament MVP, earned First Team All-Conference honors and received D2CCA Second Team All-Region recognition.
North Georgia finished second in the preseason poll with 86 points and one first-place vote. Columbus State, last season's regular-season champion, was third with 83 points and two first-place votes. USC Beaufort received the remaining first-place vote and placed fourth with 81 points.

Abercrombie joins Middle Georgia's Mauryah Jones and North Georgia's Averie Jones and Zaynah Preston on the Preseason All-Conference Team.
The PBC Basketball Tip-Off is set for Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the GCSU Centennial Center in Milledgeville, Georgia. Players and coaches from all 11 conference teams will take part in interviews streamed live on the PBC Network. The season begins in November.
