AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta University volleyball remained unbeaten in Peach Belt Conference play with a 3-1 victory over Lander Tuesday evening at Christenberry Fieldhouse.
The Jaguars won 25-15, 25-18, 20-25 and 25-15 to improve to 5-8 overall and 3-0 in conference play. Augusta has won three straight matches and nine of its last 10 sets.
Augusta finished with 60 kills on .248 hitting while holding Lander to 33 kills and a .131 percentage. The Jaguars also held advantages in service aces, 12-4, digs, 71-63, and blocks, 8.5-6.0.
Emma Haren led Augusta with 19 kills on .311 hitting and 15 digs for a double-double. Nikol Antova added 17 kills on .303 hitting with four block assists, while Sofiia Snitsarevych finished with 10 kills on .391 hitting and four total blocks.
Molly McDonald contributed five kills on .308 hitting and three block assists. Andrea Rodríguez recorded 26 assists and 10 digs for a double-double, while Kinley Nicholls added 20 assists.
Hunter McFarland led Augusta with 19 digs and three service aces. Moni Anjous added 12 digs and a match-high five aces.
Augusta set the tone defensively in the opening set, holding Lander to seven kills and a negative hitting percentage in a 25-15 win. The offense took over in the second as the Jaguars put down 20 kills and hit .415 to take a two-set lead.
Lander responded in the third, hitting .321 and limiting Augusta to a .077 percentage to extend the match with a 25-20 win.
The Jaguars regained control in the fourth. Augusta recorded 17 kills while holding Lander to .073 hitting, pulling away for another 25-15 victory to close the match.
Augusta travels to St. Augustine, Florida, to face Flagler on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 1 p.m.
