ASU Earns Split

PEMBROKE, N.C. -- Augusta State split a couple of matches on Saturday, Sept. 27 in Pembroke, N.C. The Jags fell 3-1 to UNC Pembroke in a Peach Belt Conference match, and then blanked Chowan 3-0.

ASU's Amy Hunt tallied 16 kills against UNC Pembroke, while fellow Jaguar Jessica Howard posted 13 kills. Ashley Zappitell recorded 28 assists, and Kristiana Crawford also added 19 assists for the Jags.

In game two against Chowan, Howard paced the Jags with 11 kills. Hunt posted a double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs, while Junior Lindsey Weider notched 20 digs.

The Jaguars (8-12, 0-2) return to play Wednesday, Oct. 1, when they travel to Savannah, Ga., to play a Peach Belt Conference match against Armstrong Atlantic State University.
