Godwin Paces ASU In 72-60 Loss

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Augusta State's Jasmine Godwin and Porsha White combined for 40 points, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Jaguars fell 72-60 to Georgia Southwestern Saturday in the Storm Dome.

The contest, which also served as Homecoming for the Lady Hurricanes, marked the end of the regular season for both teams.

A junior guard, Godwin booked 21 points and nine rebounds while junior forward White netted 19 points and four boards.

Brittany Reynolds paced GSW with 18 points and Clarissa Corbett and Terra Branch managed 12 each off the bench.

With the loss, the Lady Jags dropped their 10th straight game, finishing the regular season 5-22 overall and 3-17 in the PBC. The victory improved GSW to 3-17 in the league and 8-19 overall.

The Lady Hurricanes, who shot 57 percent in the second half, outrebounded ASU 55-37 and outscored the Lady Jags 44-28 in the paint.

The Lady Jags return to action on Wednesday, March 4 in the first round of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament. The 10th-seeded Lady Jags will take on No. 7 seed Columbus State (17-13, 10-10 PBC) at 3:00 p.m. in the USCA Convocation Center in Aiken, S.C.

The Lady Cougars swept ASU during the regular season, winning 81-57 on Feb. 2 in Columbus and topping the Lady Jags 67-64 last Wednesday in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
