AIKEN, S.C.
– Augusta State suffered its lowest scoring output of the
season on Monday in a 62-42 Peach Belt Conference loss to rival USC
Aiken in the USCA Convocation Center.
With the win, USC Aiken improved to 10-10 on the season and 5-6 in
the conference, while the loss dropped the Lady Jags to 1-16
overall and 0-8 in the league.
Senior Eboni Davis paced the Lady Jags with a game-high 13 points
and eight rebounds. Senior Kirsten Stallings added 11 points off
the bench, while freshman Waneta Carlisle tallied seven points and
snagged six rebounds. Fresman Ashley Brown tied her career-high in
points with six and tied her career-high in rebounds with five.
Cameron Crapps led USC Aiken with 12 points off the bench, while
Nakia Pinkney added 10 points and six rebounds. Daniela Tarailo
netted nine points and Deandra Schirmer snagged seven rebounds.
The Lady Paces shot 88.9 percent from the free-throw line and
forced 18 ASU turnovers, but shot only 33.9 percent from the field
and connected on only 12-of-31 3-point attempts.
Augusta State connected on 13-of-23 free-throw attempts, but
connected on only 3-of-11 3-point attempts (27.3 percent), and shot
only 31.0 percent from the field.
Augusta State is back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 28, when they
travel to Americus, Ga., to take on Georgia Southwestern in a Peach
Belt Conference matchup at 5:30 p.m.
