DUE WEST, S.C. -- Erskine outscored Augusta State 12-1 in the final 2:55 Monday night to post a 72-68 non-conference victory over the Lady Jaguars in Belk Arena.

The loss dropped ASU to 6-8 on the season, while Erskine moved to 4-9 with the win.

Lady Jags' freshman guard/forward Jemimah Ashby logged her seventh double-figure scoring game of the season with 16 points -- two off her career high -- while sophomore forward Waneta Carlisle turned in 13 points.

Erskine's Elizabeth Tatum poured in 30 points, while Neci Allen and Jean Marie Harris turned in 11 and 10 points, respectively.

In a contest that featured 12 ties and 11 lead changes, the Lady Jags shot 52 percent in the first half and 49 percent overall and owned a 31-25 lead at the break. The Flying Fleet opened up as much as a six-point lead 3:50 into the second half before the Lady Jags clawed back with a 6-0 spurt that Ashby capped with a pair of free throws at the 14:33 mark.

ASU went up by as much as 55-50 on an Ashby jumper with 9:08 left. Erskine forced a 59-all tie – the last of the game -- on a Porsha Morgan bucket with 5:02 remaining before the Lady Jags answered with an 8-1 run that included 3-pointers from senior point guard Jarquella Woods and freshman guard Brooke McCants.

Freshman forward Jac' Weathers canned two free throws with 2:55 to go to put the Lady Jags in front 67-60 before the Flying Fleet countered with 10 unanswered points in a span of 2:24 to take the lead for good.

ASU visits UNC Pembroke on Thursday, Jan. 20 at 5:30 p.m., before hosting No. 22 USC Aiken on Monday, Jan. 24 at 5:30.
