AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Three Lady Bearcats scored in double figures to lead No. 1 Lander on Saturday afternoon to a 97-41 Peach Belt Conference win over Augusta State in Christenberry Fieldhouse.

Lander improved to 22-0 overall and 12-0 in the Peach Belt Conference, while the Lady Jaguars dropped to 6-14 and 0-12 in conference play.  The loss was their 12th straight, all in league play.

The Lady Jags were led by senior guard Blaire Egardo's 13 points. Freshman Jemimah Ashby and sophomore Eryka Menzies each netted eight points, while sophomore forward Waneta Carlisle pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.

The Lady Bearcats dominated in the paint, outscoring ASU 56-18. Senior center Shannon McKever notched a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds, while junior guard Ciara Lyons led all scorers with 25 points on 11-of-14 shooting.  Lyons also nabbed a game-high six steals.  Junior guard Jasmine Judge booked 18 points on six 3-pointers and Mukia Myrick notched a game-high seven assists and five steals.

Lander never trailed, jumping in front 12-3 just 4:24 into the first half and led 52-20 at the half. The Lady Bearcats' 52 points tied the highest point total allowed by the Lady Jags in the first half this year.  LU outrebounded the Lady Jags 58-35, while scoring 39 points from turnovers to ASU's four.  Lander forced 29 ASU turnovers and tallied 18 steals.

The Lady Jags play host to UNC Pembroke on Monday, Feb. 7 at 5:30 p.m., in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
