PEMBROKE, N.C. -- Augusta State dropped the first set Friday night at UNC Pembroke, then won three straight sets and claimed a 3-1 Peach Belt Conference road win over UNC Pembroke at English E. Jones Center.
The win was the fourth straight for the Jaguars, who climbed to 11-9 overall and 2-4 in the PBC. The Braves dropped to 5-14 on the season and remained winless in league play at 0-6.
ASU sophomore Kristen Koch pounded out a season-high 18 kills and Jenna Killer booked 10 kills. Maggie Darling pitched in nine kills while Mandy Irizarry (six) and Leslye Barnett (five) combined for 11. Krystin Wahlig set up 35 assists and Lauren Alverson had 12 of her own, while Andria Tagarelli racked up 26 digs. Irizarry notched 13, Wahlig managed 12 and Alverson had 11 digs.
Ashlyn Truesdale paced UNCP with 10 kills, Ashlyn Rerbok netted 36 assists and Marissa Baker and Leslie Millard led the Braves with15 digs each.
The Jags posted a .340 hitting percentage and put away 63 kills, their second-highest total of the season.
The Jaguars travel to Florence, S.C., to take on Francis Marion on Saturday at 2:00 p.m., in Smith University Center.
