ATLANTA, Ga. – After GRU Augusta senior Becky Newhouse banked in a three pointer to force overtime, the Miles Golden Bears had a one-point lead when Jaguar junior Whitney Rohrbach sunk a game winning jumper with a second to play for a 68-67 win in day two of the Clark Atlanta Classic in Epps Gymnasium.

The Jaguars (1-2) held the lead the entire game until Miles (4-2) stole it at the free-throw line for a 57-all score. GRU drew up a play for freshman Tavia Sykes with six seconds on the clock. Newhouse grabbed Sykes' missed shot and got it to the hands of Rohrbach down low on the right side to finish the Golden Bears' night.

Newhouse led the team again with her second double-double in two days, putting up 12 points and 11 rebounds, while adding six assists and a steal. Junior transfer Kelsey Fynaardt scored a team-high 15 points – shooting 6-of-8 from the field and adding seven boards and four steals. Rohrbach's buzzer-beater shot gave her nine points on the day while she grabbed eight rebounds.

GRU outrebound Miles 52-to-40 in what was truly a team effort with seven Jaguars playing double-digit minutes. Senior Brooke McCants provided nine points, four assists, four rebounds and three steals. The Jags forced 25 turnovers and shot 36 percent as a team from the field.

Alease Allen led Miles with 15 points and Enria Samuels and De'Oshia Long each added 13.

The Jaguars play a 5:30 p.m. non-conference game at Benedict in Columbia, S.C. on Tuesday, Nov. 26 before the men tipoff at 7:30 p.m.
