It was a one-point game on two different occasions in the opening 20 minutes, but the Panthers built a lead to as much as 15 and went into the locker rooms up 39-25.
GRU's Kayla Roberts drove the floor and got a fast-break layup to fall for a six-point game. It was the closest GRU would get in the second half. Claflin built a 21-point advantage and finished the night with a 77-60 non-conference victory to stay undefeated and keep GRU winless.
Senior-transfer Erika Waters chipped in nine points, four assists, three steals and three rebounds for GRU, while Montgomery finished with nine points as well and four boards with two steals. GRU shot 35.0 percent from the three-point line (7-for-20) and 50.0 percent from the charity stripe.

Last time out against Claflin on Nov. 20, 2012, the Jags were paced by an 18-point effort from senior transfer Taylor Ayers in the first half, giving GRU its third-straight win to start the season with an 83-37 victory over Claflin Tuesday night in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
