AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta University men's golf team is in a three-way tie for eighth place after 36 holes on Saturday at the 3M Augusta Invitational, hosted by the Jaguars at Forest Hills Golf Club. The Jaguars shot a 295 (+7) in round one and were in 13th place in the 15-team field, before they fired a 284 (-4) in the second round.
Augusta matched the low score of the second round and climbed the leaderboard five spots, led by freshman Alex Shead. Shead is tied for fourth (-3) after firing a 71, 70, while senior Broc Everett shot 71, 72 and is tied for 13th at 1-under-par to lead the Jags.
AU freshman Lake Hinton is tied for 48th (+4), sophomore McCullough Pickens is tied for 57th (+5), and freshman Olof Gunnarsson sits 61st (+7).
No. 12 Illinois leads the field at 12-under-par, Tennessee is second (-6), and No. 28 Wake Forest sits third (-4).
The event concludes on Easter Sunday, April 1, for the final 18 holes with tee times off one and 10 from 8:30 – 8:45 a.m.
