Box Score AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Jaguars dropped a home contest to North Georgia, falling 87-76 in non-conference action in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
Augusta moved to 1-2 overall while North Georgia is now 1-0. The match-up marked the first time that the Nighthawks have played in the 2020-21 season.
Sophomore Kennedi Manning had 8 points at halftime and finished with 20 points. She also led the team in rebounds. November Morton and Zairya West each turned in double digit performances as well, with 14 points and 13 points respectively
The Jags recorded a 50.0 field-goal percentage (29-fpor-58), while shooting 68.8 percent (11-for-16) from the free-throw line and 30.8 percent (4-for-13) from beyond the arc. North Georgia was efficient early from the floor in the first half and they ended the game shooting 50.0 percent from the field (28-for-56). They had an 86.7 percent free-throw percentage and a 31.3 three-point mark.
Sitting first atop the PBC preseason standings, North Georgia took the half on top 45-30 after shooting 51.4 percent from the floor in the first 20 minutes. The Nighthawks led by as many as 29 points. A balanced offensive effort from the Jaguars in the second half was not enough and Augusta fell 87-46 on the night.
Augusta has more than a full week off before they travel to Anderson on Thursday December 17th for a 2:00pm match-up.
