Box Score AUGUSTA, Ga – The Augusta University women's basketball team defeated the Flagler College Saints 68-43 in a Peach Belt Conference contest at home in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
Augusta (5-4, 4-1 PBC) entered the day third in in the PBC, while Flagler (4-6, 3-5 PBC) came on the court in a tie for 7th.
Jaguar sophomore Kennedi Manning made 10-of-14 from field goal range and ended with a game-high 22 points. She also added 12 rebound to round her double-double for the night.
AU senior Zairya West was 1 point under her season high with 17 points and 2 rebound. Junior November Morton scored 9 points and 4 boards.
The Jags shot 41.3 percent (26-for-63) from the floor and held the Saints to 22.2 percent shooting (18-of-59). The rebound battle was 44-42 in favor of Flagler and the Jags outscored the Saints 20-14 in the paint.
Flagler was led by Monique Bryant's 11 points. ,
AU jumped to a 13-5 lead halfway through the first quarter after a made three-pointer by November Morton. The Jags outscored Armstrong 18-14 in the first period and were even in rebounding in the first 10 minutes of play. Augusta continued to build the momentum and went to the locker room up 33-25. The Jaguars never looked back and never relinquished the lead. They led by as many as 28 points and took a definitive win at home.
The Jaguars travel to North Georgia Monday, Feb 15th a 5:30 p.m. tipoff. The men play at 7:30 p.m. following with the women's game.
