HILTON HEAD, SC. – After winning the tournament last year, Augusta University men's golf is leads the field after 2 rounds at the Pinnacle Bank Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, SC.
Hosted by Francis Marion University on the par-72, 6,582-yard course, AU entered Day 1 defending their title from last year. Augusta (+1) finished tied with Charleston Southern after the first 2 rounds of play. Both teams hold a 10 stroke lead over third place Chattanooga (+11). High Point,and Furman round out the top 5 for Day 1 of the tournament.
Augusta Alex van Wyk led the Jaguars for the day, currently in third overall. He shot 71(-1) and 70(-2) in the first 2 rounds. Ben van Wyk and Dawson Booth are tied for fifth at +1. Dan Sheehan is tied for 11th and Brock Hoover rounds out the team at 79.
After improving their Round 1 score by a stroke, Augusta moved up one spot to share the lead.
